BFGoodrich TIRE LIMITED WARRANTY – TERMS AND CONDITIONS
BFGoodrich TIRE LIMITED WARRANTY – TERMS AND CONDITIONS
WHAT IS COVERED AND FOR HOW LONG?
Workmanship and Materials
BFGoodrich Passenger, SUV, 4X4, Light truck, Truck and Bus tires that are used in normal service and in accordance with the maintenance recommendations and safety warnings of BFGoodrich are covered by this limited warranty against defects in workmanship and materials
Term of Warranty
This warranty is for a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase, or until the wear of the minimum legal tread depth (according to country legislation), whichever occurs first. At that time, all warranties, express or implied, expire.
What is not covered?
Tires which become unserviceable due to:
- Road hazard injury (e.g., a cut, snag, bruise, impact damage or puncture)
- Incorrect fitting of the tire, tire/wheel imbalance, or improper repair
- Misapplication, improper maintenance, racing, under inflation, over inflation or other abuse resulting in casing damage or fatigue
- Accident, fire, chemical corrosion, contamination, tire alteration or vandalism
- Flat spotting caused by improper storage
- The addition of liquid, solid or gaseous materials other than air, nitrogen or carbon dioxide
- Load or speed greater than the ISO load/speed value recommended
- Uneven or rapid wear caused by mechanical irregularity in the vehicle such as axle misalignment, resulting in damage to the under-tread, carcass or steel belts
- Ozone or weather cracking
WHAT BFGoodrich WILL DO?
If a tire is covered by the BFGoodrich limited warranty, BFGoodrich or its distributor (based on the term of the agreement in place) will replace the tire with a comparable new BFGoodrich replacement tire on a pro rata basis. This means that customer will be responsible for paying a portion of the cost. The distributor will determine the portion for which customer will be responsible by multiplying the percentage of the original usable tread worn by the price in the current BFGoodrich Base Price List.
The charges related to tire fitting and unfitting, transportation charges, balancing charges and other taxes if any are not covered under the Warranty and shall be charged separately as applicable.
CONDITIONS AND EXCLUSIONS
Date of purchase is documented by new vehicle registration (where the tires were fitted on a new vehicle) or original tire sales invoice. If there is no proof of purchase, the warranty will be based on the date of manufacture.
Claimed tires and/or tubes shall be inspected by BFGoodrich authorised representative and their decision shall be final.
This warranty does not provide compensation for any indirect damages including but not limited to service charges incurred, charges for mounting and balancing, loss of time, loss of use of vehicle, inconvenience or consequential damage insofar as the law permits.
Tires presented to an authorized BFGoodrich Dealer for compensation remain the property of the consumer and BFGoodrich accepts no responsibility for loss of or damage to tires which are in the custody or control of an authorized BFGoodrich Dealer for the purposes of inspection.
Tires accepted by an authorized BFGoodrich Dealer for compensation become the property of BFGoodrich. In the event of a dispute, the consumer must make the tire available for further inspection.
No authorized BFGoodrich Dealer, representative or employee has the authority to make or imply any representation, promise or agreement that in any way varies the terms of this warranty.
Any technical data, specifications and quality specifications generally furnished by BFGoodrich from time to time in relation to its tire(s) shall not constitute a part of the warranty or assured characteristics of any tire(s) unless expressly confirmed in writing in relation to the particular tire(s) purchased by a consumer.
BFGoodrich retains the right to amend or modify the terms and conditions of the Warranty at any time without assigning any reason thereof.
