Upgrade for piece of mind.
I upgraded my standard factory tires on my duel cab 4X4 to BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 and experienced and immediate difference in traction. When you are out on the tracks or up the beach you can be a long way from help and the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 allow you to put as much power as possible down into tyres and still keep traction and get you out of trouble. It's a safety thing.
Adventure with BF Goodrich
I recently had the opportunity to test out the BF Goodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires on my off-road adventures, and I must say, they exceeded my expectations in every way. These tires truly live up to their reputation as being one of the best all-terrain tires available on the market. First and foremost, the traction provided by the KO2 tires is exceptional. These tires offered outstanding grip and stability. I felt confident in their ability to tackle any obstacle in my path, which made my off-roading experience even more enjoyable. These tyres will add a touch of toughness to any off road vehicle. Highly recommended.
KO2s in Off-road service
The 20% harder side walls than the original KO 1s which i had a first set for 85000km and a second set still on with 15000km on my Defender 130, whilst better for side wall puncture resistance thet crack in sandy conditions when deflated a bit for the sand. The KO 1s never did that. I had to replace the KO 2s I had on my 90 Defender because of that problem .....
Best of the Best
I am staying in the rural Eastern Cape with more dirt road that tarred road (with more potholes than the dirt road) . Purchasing the BFGOODRICH All-Terrain T/A KO2 tyre was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made besides marrying my wife (lol). These deliveries the best On-/Off-Road capabilities. They give me the confidence to take on the toughest roads in my area. Performance is flawless even on the dirt road and the noise is minimal like cat crawling for a mouse.
Quite simply the best
Been on BFG's for over 30 years, travelling Africa and camping in the most remote areas. When you do that, you need peace of mind. Grip in mud and on slippery surfaces is important; reliability on rocks and shale is non negotiable; tough in the Richtersveld and on the roads of Mpumalanga cannot be over emphasized; and, most important, peace of mind when crawling over rocks or speeding on the N1 is such a blessing. Thirty years. Not one flat tyre. That sure tells you something about the quality I rely on. If the wheels do not wear BFG's, I don't travel Africa.
Very happy with my BFG's
I drive a Toyota Hilux 4.0 V6 petrol, which puts a lot of pressure on rear tyres in normal road use. The BF Goodrich KO2's handle this very well. I would say that they are the best off-road tyres I have ever used, in 3 sets of tyres I have had no puncture where other brands have had several punctures on the same terrain. One weak spot is wet tar performance, which could be better.
Essential overland equipment.
Been using BFG A/T since 2007 and not once had an issue with the tire. I travel overland extensively, and it is the only tire that I trust. These tires are part of my "essential overland equipment" list. Will never leave home without them.
Longevity and toughness
As a person who drives a lot due to the type of work that I do. I would recommend this tyre. I'm in a construction industry in the rural areas of the Eastern Cape closer to the Drankensberg mountains. These tyres last and they are tough. The grip I get when I'm on the gravel road (wet or dry) is good and the fact that I do not have to worry about damaging the tyre due to extra thick walls the it has.
Reliable tyre
Did my first trip to Namibia with my 2002 Mitsubishi Colt Rodeo 4x4 bakkie with 4 BF Goodrich All terrains 265/70/16 and one spare tyre. Drove from Gauteng to Nambia and back, entering by Ariamsvlei and going to Fish River Canyon, Sossusvlei, Henties Bay and till by Cape Cross seal cologny and back to SA via Rietfontein borderpost. Camped on private farms and drove mostly dirt roads covering a total of about 6000km. We had no punctures nor any tyre blow outs. Went to Namibia again recently, doing a similar route, but also going more north to Torra Bay, Palmwag and Etosha. We covered about 8000km, this time with another popular, cheaper brand of all terrain tyres on the Colt, plus 3 spares. We had a total of 3 punctures, which we did not notice on the dirt roads, until 2 tyres were shredded and one tyre could at least be fixed with a mushroom plug. We also had to buy another second hand spare tyre, as we ran out of spares.Had to buy a second hand spare tyre, as we ran out of spares. So BF Goodrich All terrains definitely proved to be the best tyre, if I compared the first trip to the second.
General Ko2 Review
Excellent off road and dry on road tyre. On road and in wet conditions, horrible.
