BFGOODRICH 2025 DAKAR TEAMS
Some Of The Drivers And Teams Tackling The 2025 Dakar Rally
TOBY PRICE & SAM SUNDERLAND
Toby Price has been setting the pace on two wheels in deserts all over the world for close to a decade. Ever since his sensational podium finish on his Dakar Rally debut, the man from Down Under has been a major reference point at the rally.
In 2025, Price will take on a new challenge: four wheels. At the upcoming Dakar Rally, Price will compete in the car category, driving the T1+ Overdrive Toyota Hilux with none other than Sam Sunderland as his navigator. Each holds two previous Dakar Rally wins, a combined four victories, and a total of 21 Dakar Rallys under the belt for the pair.
DANIA AKEEL
Akeel, who has already achieved a top-10 finish in the Dakar, is preparing for her fourth professional start in the 2025 event, which kicks off on January 3. Saudi Arabia, where the Dakar has been held for the past five years, offers a diverse range of terrain – from sand dunes and rocks to gravel and desert – making it an ideal location for the world’s toughest rally. “The terrain in Saudi Arabia is incredibly diverse. You’ve got sand, rocks, gravel and dunes – everything a driver needs to sharpen their skills,” Akeel says. “It’s a stunning country, and the diversity of its terrain makes it a perfect match for the Dakar. It’s not just a race – it’s an adventure.”
TOYOTA GAZOO RACING
Building on their success in the 2024 World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), where Lucas Moraes and BFGoodrich Performance Team member Seth Quintero contributed to Toyota’s victory in the Manufacturer’s Championship, the team heads to the Dakar with a determination to carry the momentum from the W2RC win forward into the new year. As the opening round of the 2025 W2RC season, the Dakar Rally is critical to setting the tone for the championship, making a strong result vital for the team’s title aspirations.
Seth Quintero:
“Being part of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing for the 2025 Dakar is a dream come true. Every year, I learn and grow more as a driver, and the Dakar is the ultimate test. With Repsol onboard as a sponsor, it’s exciting to know that we’re contributing to something bigger than just racing – we’re pioneering renewable technologies and proving what’s possible with sustainable energy in motorsport.”
